Altrincham Kersal RFC vs Carlisle RFC

Altrincham Kersal entertained Carlisle on a cold day, and the few that turned up saw a tight game between two teams at different ends of the table. Kersal had few opportunities early in the game until they took an interception and scored the opening try of the game, which was converted to give them a 7-0 lead. Then not long later they scored the second taking the few chances that were coming their way to give themselves a solid 12-0 lead, but an under pressure Carlisle scored 2 tries late in to the half to make the scores level at the  break.

The close encounter continued in the second half as a try a piece put the score at 17-17 going into the final minutes of the tight affair. Carlisle, playing slightly under par in the kicking department, conceded a late penalty kick which gave struggling Kersal a 20-17 win over the high-flying Carlisle who will be disappointed about their mistakes in the game which allowed AK to get a big win.
