Wythenshawe Town progressed to the last 16 of the Manchester FA Amateur Cup after a 1-5 away win.
The first chance of the match came from a free kick 18 minutes in, the ball was floated into the box but Jonathan Rand couldn’t keep his header down. They didn’t have to wait long after that for the opener as Alex Elliott fired in from outside the edge of the box after the ball had been cleared away to give Wythenshawe Town the lead.
Soon after it was 2-0, Ben Connolly whipped a ball into the box and Ben Brooks found space to get on the end of the free-kick after 26 minutes.

Wythenshawe found more of their familiar rhythm in the 2nd half on what was a very tight pitch. Just 10 minutes in, manager Lee McGregor made it 3-0 from long-range after a poor kick from the Chorltonians keeper. 4 minutes later Ben Brooks scored his second of the match, who slotted the ball past the keeper despite pressure from the Chorltonians defender.

Alex Elliott finished off Wythenshawe Town’s scoring with his second, Jason Walley slid in to give a fortunate pass, past the keeper leaving a simple finish for Elliott. Chorltonians found a consolation goal late on after a long strike took a large deflection to take it past Jacob Luty.

A tough, scrappy game but Wythenshawe progress to the last 16. The reserves lost on penalties at Gorse Hill in the same competition.
