Hyde Staff XI 3-3 Hyde Supporters


A strong Hyde Staff team was sent to the field which included the likes of the Manager (Scott McNiven) and the assistant manager (Gavin McCann) They were to play a supporters team who played with a freedom and a good passing play. The Hyde Staff XI made the first blow after 34 mins to a game which was end to end with no real chances but the Staff took the lead after a great through ball put their player one on one with the keeper and it could only end up in one place, the Goal. Just before half time the Hyde supporters put the scores level to give themselves a good chance in the second half.

The second half started with some good play from the staff team and they were able to take the lead again through Josh Brizell as he found space to curl it around the keeper into the bottom right corner to make the scores 2-1 (51 Mins). The Staff kept on attacking leaving the defence weak and the supporters capitilised through a counter attack to level the scores (74 Mins). But once again the Staff took the lead through a great goal from the edge of the box from ex-Bolton midfielder Gavin McCann (76 Mins). With just 4 minutes to play the supporters scored the goal needed to send the game to penalties.

Penalties scored as it went into sudden death. The 7th Staff penalty was taken and missed by the keeper giving the supporters the chance to win the shoot-out and they did.

Wythenshawe Town 0-2 East Manchester


Wythenshawe Town took on Title hopefuls East Manchester FC in what would be the penultimate game of the season. The away team still had a shot at the title and it would come down to this result and Hindsford vs Walshaw Sports. The away team started brightly and their early pressure paid off as they took the lead through a mistake from Wythenshawe's keeper as he sliced it in to his own goal. Then a matter of minutes later the away team went 2-0 up as they continued their pressure. Manchester played well all throughout the first half as they passed well with Wythenshawe looking stunned and struggling to get any chances.

Once again the away team started well and Wythenshawe's
chances were dented another blow as they went down to ten men but they took the game to Manchester after the red card. East Manchester did have chances to put them even further ahead but they couldn't so the game ended 2-0

The away team did not pick up the title after Hindsford won 2-1 against Walshaw Sports. After a tough season East Manchester finished inside the top 2, only a point behind the winners. Roll on next season.
