Cheadle Town 2-1 Abbey Hey

Cheadle hosted promotion chasing Abbey Hey in a midweek clash hoping to dent their decent run of form. The home team started the game with some good attacking play, having numerous chances to open the scoring but missed the mark, and against the run of play, Abbey Hey got a foot hold in the game and got the opening goal of the game from Martin Pilkington after 17 minutes. The game became more open and the lead   was cancelled out after a cross into the box was flicked on and the ball was headed in from Jordan Walker after 23 minutes. An end to end game filled up the rest of the first half.
HT Score: - Cheadle Town 1-1 Abbey Hey FC

Abbey Hey came out in the second half and show their class but their couldn't put away chance with them coming from every angle. Cheadle had the ball in the back of the net after 73 minutes after the Abbey Hey keeper kicks the ball against Dan Doherty but the referee didn't give the goal. Cheadle didn't have to wait long to get the goal as after 78 minutes as Sherrington finished well to give them a 2-1 lead. Abbey Hey continued to press and had some good chances even an ambitious volley (pictured) from the visitors which failed to get them a goal. An interesting game where the home team took their few chances whilst the away team couldn't put their shots away.
